this Entire Overview is for/directed to one of my best buddies, we're on the same team for the upcoming splatfest and i'm very excited about it!
they've told me they appreciate sploon tips and tricks coming from me so i thought i'd put together some gear suggestions for veir main. (mario voice) here we go
when it comes to abilities, what you want is a lot of run speed and super jump speed. it's time to stock up on Rockenberg or Zink!
when an nzap engages in close combat, the key to surviving is speed. despite being lightweight, nzaps (and most weapons) alone aren't fast enough to strafe while painting, countering enemy attack, or dodging enemy fire
LDE is a great pick for turf wars. it isn't Necessary, but will lower your ink consumption when it matters most. it gives you approx. 8 subs/2 mains worth of ink saver main+sub, and ink recovery up so you can ace that final push!
i know a QSJ pure is tempting, but the effect of most abilities don't stack well after they pass certain benchmarks, and that's one of them. a main will be all you need to get back to spawn if you're in trouble or to pop off your tenta-missiles
if you don't have a main of QSJ, Zink gear should do the trick .so you have a high chance of scoring ar least 1 sub. maybe even a triple :smug:
this setup is far from perfect lol and you might not be a fan of this Bland look so i took some time to look for easy alternatives!! so you've got more ideas to pick out to match ur shirt. in no particular order,
Golf Visor can/...should be switched out for:
- Rockenberg 18K Aviators
- Zekko Swim Goggles
- Firefin Facemask^
- Firefin Octoglasses
- Inkline Tulip Parasol^
- Cuttlegear Octoling Shades
^you can order these from me!
still effective, not-LDE options:
- Zekko Mesh
- Firefin Blowfish Newsie
Gray Yellow-Soled Wingtips can be replaced for:
- Rockenberg Red Work Boots
- Zekko Pearl-Scout Lace-Ups
- Zink White Laceless Dakroniks^
- Tentatek Canary Trainers, if desperate
^don't pair these with golf visor :^(
if we weren't confined to splatfest tees, i'd suggest you pack 0.4/1.0 MPU to hit a helpful benchmark, but this case is different because iirc you prefer a lot of QSJ so i ditched the MPU thing, favoring RSU.
more turfing power won't be helpful if your running speed is only average (because if you're faced a 2v1, you're toast)
that being said, there are no wrong picks! the decision is yours (that's free will, babey) there's times where fun and fashion takes priority over competition and i agree!! ( i'm ready to throw hands though so you can bet i'll be well prepared
